About the centre
SDN Ultimo TAFE has been providing high-quality education and care to the children of TAFE students, teachers, staff and other local communities since 2002.
We are a flexible child care centre and accommodate the individual needs of the TAFE community and families through full-time, part-time or half-day care. As such, families are welcome at any time of the day. During TAFE holidays the centre also provides vacation care to the community, including the children of TAFE students.
Our staff
We have a dedicated, experienced and long standing team, who are experienced and qualified in early childhood education. Our staff’s qualifications vary from university level to diploma and certificate level. All staff members hold a Senior First Aid Certificate.
Our care and education programs
SDN Ultimo TAFE meets the needs of a diverse community: we welcome and cater for all types of families from a range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Our curriculum and learning environment is child and family focused, and we respond to the children’s interests and strengths. We value the input of families to provide experiences and projects in which the children are active participants in their own learning.
Location
The early learning centre has strong links and relationships with the local community. We often take the children on excursions to local spots to encourage children to see themselves as active and important members of their community.
SDN Ultimo has four spacious, purpose-built rooms for children to explore and investigate. The playground area is naturally beautiful and secure, with sand pits for all children. The children are provided with morning tea and afternoon tea.
