The SDN Cumberland Resource Project was established in 2004 to promote and support best practice service delivery in preschools and childcare services in the Parramatta , Holroyd and Auburn Local Government Areas of NSW.

SDN was approached by the NSW Government to establish the project as a result of our reputation for quality service delivery and our ability to support other services in achieving their goals.

This innovative project aims to increase:

  • quality in early childhood environments and service practices
  • parent and community involvement in children's services
  • the number of services that are responsive to children's individual needs and family and community goals
  • service practices that are contemporary and inclusive of cultural and language factors
  • collaborative approaches between services and other community organisations

The project provides training and facilitates regional forums and information exchange. Staff work closely with childcare and preschool service staff wanting to improve their practices.
