About SDN management services

SDN Management Services is an extension of SDN Children’s Service, a non-for-profit organisation with more than 100 years’ experience educating and caring for children. We provide inclusive long day care and preschool, as well as targeted support services for children and families facing challenges. 

SDN operates 23 children’s education and care services in New South Wales and the ACT, catering for more than 3000 children each year from birth to five years. We understand the pressures, responsabilities and risks associated with managing children’s services. Our management services include: 

  • delivering programs for children’s education and development
  • facilitating families’ involvement in children’s services
  • designing and maintaining the physical environment and children’s equipment
  • enabling the professional development of children
  • Nutritional and Health and Safety requirements.

Our size means we also offer economies of scale to coordinate effective maintenance and servicing of properties including fire inspections, cleaning contracts, plumbing and air conditioning maintenance.We have experience in:

  • working with parent-managed committees to transition their service to SDN Management
  • taking on risk and responsibility to deliver high-quality services while retaining a community focus in response to the client group’s needs
  • partnering with exisiting services or employers to operate child care centres and services

The SDN approach

The SDN Management Services team draws on an extensive network of resources to deliver a tailor made solution for each child care centre or service. Each centre in the SDN family is assigned a Community Leader who works directly with staff and assists with management issues, ensuring children receive the highest quality education and care in line with SDN’s vision and values. Each centre or service has access to an integrated system of support, promoting access to services for all children. We take management of centres and service well beyond the ‘day-to-day’, offering:

  • professional support, development and mentoring for staff
  • management of relationships between the centre and families
  • liaison with regulatory agencies
  • management of emergency issues
  • finance, HR and property management support services.
