There are two Enablers in the SDN Community of Learners. One has an early childhood special education background. The other has a social work background.

The Enablers support the Community of Learners in developing a shared understanding of working with young children with disabilities in a family-centred, play-based way, by:

  • facilitating and supporting relationships within the Community of Learners
  • advocating for each family and child
  • facilitating development of shared knowledge and understanding between Community of Learners members
  • arranging and leading joint learning opportunities
  • providing mentoring and coaching on joint documentation and reflective practice.

The Enablers are supported by an Administrative Assistant whose key role is to administer the interactive Community of Learners website.
