What
As a service of the Child and Family Resource Centre, the purpose of Stay & Play groups is to encourage parents and children to play and have fun together.
When
During school terms only, the Stay & Play Group uses the Child and Family Resource Centre and play space as follows:
- Tuesday Group (Session One) 10:00am – 11:00am
- Thursday Group (Session One) 9:45am – 10:45am
Who is involved?
Stay & Play is facilitated by Libby (our Operations Coordinator) and Katrina (our Family Resource worker). Volunteers are also part of this group. During these groups, Libby and/or Katrina are available to talk with you and assist you with your child. The group also provides opportunities to meet other families.
Bookings are essential!
Families wishing to attend Stay & Play must make a booking. You can book:
- in person at the Centre
- by telephone (9897 3635)
- by email to Libby Gaynor
- by email to Katrina Heckendorf.
Please leave a message and we will get back to you to let you know whether there is a space available in the group. If you make a booking and then find you cannot attend, please telephone us so others on the waiting list may attend in your place.
Families who come to borrow toys during Stay & Play sessions but are not booked in for Stay & Play cannot give their child play time in the room. You can return and borrow toys, but your child must stay with you.

Car parking
For your children’s safety, if you drive to the Resource Centre we ask that you park either in Cowper Street, or in the two-hour free car park on the corner of Cowper Street and Rowell Street. The Centre’s car park is needed for staff who come and go through the day. To make it easier with young children, please feel free to drop larger items off at the door before parking your car. Thank you.
Public transport
The centre is a five-minute walk from Granville train station.
