12 Nutrition and meals SDN Children’s Education and Care Centres provide a variety of nutritionally-balanced meals each day. Meals and snacks of fresh fruit and produce are sourced from local suppliers whenever possible. Specific dietary requirements are adhered to and children’s and families food preferences are respected. Menus All menus are planned to ensure children are provided with at least 50% of the Recommended Daily Intake of nutrients essential for children’s growth and development, and all food provided to children is in line with the Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Guidelines for Children recommendations of the Australian Government. Menus are displayed prominently in each centre. Infant needs Mothers who are breast feeding are welcome to attend the centre to feed their infant during the day. SDN provides cow’s milk and soy milk for infants’ bottles. If your child has formula, this can be provided to staff who will prepare the bottles as needed. Information regarding your infant’s requirements will be collected on enrolment. If your infant’s requirements change, inform your Centre Director.
