My qualifications and experience

I hold a Bachelor of Education from the University of Canberra, which I completed in 2002.

I have been working in early childhood education since 2002 and have more than 20 years of experience in the sector. Prior to completing my teaching degree, I worked as a nanny in England for two years and as a casual educator for three years.

My career has included five years teaching in England, followed by 12 and a half years with the former UNSW Early Years service. I transitioned to SDN during the university's outsourcing process and have been part of the SDN community since 2021. I joined as an Early Childhood Teacher and Room Leader before stepping into the role of Centre Director in 2023.

What I'm most passionate about in my role

I am passionate about providing all children who attend our centre with a place to learn and grow that feels safe and secure, based on strong, caring relationships with their educators and staff. I am also passionate about building strong and trusted relationships with families in a space that encourages connection, support and laughter.

What I love about working with SDN

I love working with my team, who continually support each other, our children and our families with joy and humour. This positive approach carries through in everything we do. I also greatly value the support and connection I receive from the wider community at SDN.

A little bit more about me

In my spare time, I love spending time with family and friends whenever possible. I enjoy staying active through walking, swimming and pilates, and I have recently taught myself how to crochet.

An interesting fact about me is that I have travelled to 52 countries around the world, and whilst English is my first language, and I have been learning Spanish for the past few years.
