Our therapists provide a tailored service with children over 7 years and their families, using a holistic approach to support a child’s skill development and independence.

Our therapists focus on what is important to families and children, and value your child’s strengths as part of the therapeutic process. 

The therapists will collaborate with families and children to identify what they want to achieve in daily life, work together to develop an individualised approach to support with the achievement of goals and coach and guide families to support the outcomes for children.

Your therapist can complete assessments to support service delivery as well as practice within the environment of a family’s choice such as in the home, clinic or education setting. Our therapists are flexible to meet the changing interests and goals of your child as they grow from childhood into adolescence. We collaborate with your child and family to support their participation in the activities of daily life that hold collective meaning and work to enhance these.

From 7- 12 years, our therapists can support your child with:

  • Reading comprehension (SP)
  • Vocabulary development (e.g. academic vocabulary) (SP)
  • Development of complex sentence structures (SP)
  • Handwriting (OT)
  • Self-care activities (OT)
  • Concentration and attention (OT)
  • Transition to high school (OT)
  • Social skills and relationships (OT)

From 13 – 16 years, our therapists can support your child with:

  • Conversational skills (SP)
  • Higher level language skills (humour, sarcasm etc) (SP)
  • Summarising skills (e.g. for conversation and academic purposes) (SP)
  • Community access and participation (OT)
  • Vocational pathways relating to post-school options (OT)
  • Meal preparation (OT)
