The equipment clinic is run by SDN’s team of speech pathologists.

The team assess your child’s current communication skills, and match the child with a device and/or access method that will help them to increase these skills in any given context. The AAC clinic encompasses any form of non-verbal communication including:

  • Simple gesturing
  • Key word signing and paper based visuals
  • Using speech generating devices that can be accessed through a switch, eye gaze or a head pointer.

Because our speech therapists also work as keyworkers as part of a transdisciplinary team, they have access to the expertise of our team of occupational therapists, speech pathologists, psychologist, social workers and early childhood specialists should you child ever need it.

The clinic is open to all children with an NDIS package who are currently receiving services through SDN disability services. New clients under the NDIS and those who wish to self-fund are also welcome.
